Paul L. Good Experienced Family Immigration Lawyer There are essentially two types of family-based immigration: unlimited family-based immigration and limited family-based immigration. Unlimited Family-Based Immigration - Immediate Relatives of U.S. Citizens (IR): This category includes the spouse and minor children of a U.S. citizen, as well as the parent of a U.S. citizen who is 21 or older.
- Returning Residents (SB): This category includes permanent residents who have left the country for more than a year and are returning to live in the United States.
Limited Family-Based Immigration -
F1 Visas – These visas are granted to unmarried sons and daughters of U.S citizens and their children -
F2 Visas – A majority of these visas are granted to spouses and children of permanent U.S. residents. Some F2 visas are granted to their unmarried sons and daughters who are over age of twenty. -
F3 Visas – These visas are granted to the married sons and daughters of United States Citizens and their husbands, wives, and children. -
F4 Visas – These visas are granted to the brother and sisters of U.S. citizens, and their husbands, wives, and children, as long as the U.S. citizen is at least 21 years old. I help people fill out I-130 Petitions for Alien Relative, I-485 Applications for Green Cards, I-864 Affidavits of Support, I-765 Employment Authorization Documents, I-131 Advance Travel authorization, etc. as well as gather documents required by the USCIS or the U.S. Department of State, such as passports, birth certificates, medical exams, and other civil documents. K-1 and K-2 Visas In addition to family-based immigration, I have significant experience helping U.S. citizens obtain K-1 fiancé visas so they can bring their fiancé to the United States for the wedding. Once in the U.S., I can help fill out and file Forms I-485 and I-765 to obtain work permits and green cards. I also help with K-2 visa applications for the minor children of K-I visa holders.
